NIA Region 2, CSU Lasam, join forces to explore potential for cacao plantation

The Cagayan State University Lasam Campus conducted Coordination Meeting in collaboration with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region 2, to explore the possibility of establishing a cacao plantation in the watershed of a small reservoir irrigation project in Abariongan Uneg, Sto. Niño, Cagayan.


This collaborative effort was initiated by Mr. Federico B. Ordinario, Jr., Technical Consultant of the Regional Manager, alongside the team from NIA Region 2 including Ms. Shelah B. Raymundo (NIA-RO2/ EMS-ll), Mr. Rommel Lingan (NIA-RO2,CSRIP/SR. EA), Mr. Raymart T. Pagarigan (NIA-RO2, CSRIP), and Mr. Jhon Albert A. Requimin (NIA-RO2 CSRIP/Engr,A) to discuss the project with Campus Executive Officer of CSU Lasam, Dr. Florante Victor M. Balatico.


Furthermore, Mr. Ordinario and CEO Balatico visited the CSU Lasam cacao processing center. During the visit, the CEO showcased the various products produced by the campus, highlighting the potential for a successful cacao plantation project.
