LASAM, Cagayan— In a momentous event marked by unity and vision, Cagayan State University (CSU) Lasam Campus launched the Groundbreaking and Cornerstone Laying of the Multi-Purpose Building today, April 14, 2025, marking a historical milestone for campus development.
Prof. Florante Victor M. Balatico, Campus Executive Officer, commenced the program with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the broad impact of the project on the CSU Lasam community.
The ceremonial laying of the cornerstone was led by CSU Benefactor Dr. Zarah Rose de Guzman Lara; 3rd District of Cagayan Representative and member of the CSU Board of Regents, Hon. Joseph “Jojo” Lasam Lara; Officer-in-Charge President of CSU, Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez; and CEO Balatico.
Moreover, Dr. Zarah Rose de Guzman Lara delivered a heartfelt message, underscoring the vital role of supporting the entire CSU campus to ensure that students can concentrate fully on their academic pursuits.
"Ang alam ko ang responsibilidad ng mga estudyante ay mag aral at makapagtapos ng maayos. Kailangan nating tulungan at ayusin ang pamunuan, ang buong campus ng CSU, kasi nakakaawa naman kung ang mga estudyante, hirap na nga sa pag-aaral, hindi pa kumportable sa kanilang eskwela," said Dr. Lara.
Moreover, Hon. Joseph 'Jojo' Lasam Lara, 3rd District of Cagayan Representative, highlighted the need for permanent solutions to long-standing challenges, noting the urgent infrastructure concerns during his first visit to CSU Lasam.
"Tatta ket, the start of a permanent solution to the long standing problems. Daytuy ti kunkuna tayu nga responsible infrastructure, nga [mangbalbaliw] iti panagbiyag iti tunggal maysa kadatayu,” Cong. Lara stated.
OIC Pres. Ibañez conveyed his gratitude on behalf of the university administration, highlighting the collective efforts and support that made the development possible.
