Pastor qualifies for LHEPC, other Ripple scribes reap awards

Associate Editor and Sports Writer Norielle Pastor booked the lone ticket for the Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference in Naga City as he was hailed as Champion in Sports Writing English in the 20th Regional Higher Education Press Conference held at NGN Gran Hotel, Tuguegarao City, January 22-24, 2024.

Joining Pastor in the winning column is Managing Editor Mark Jellicoe Rodillas who landed at seventh place, both in Development Communication English and Editorial Writing English.

Debuting in the RHEPC, John Paul Villena also had an outstanding performance clinching the 8th place in Sports Writing Filipino and 10th place in Copy Reading and Headline Writing Filipino.

EIC Diana Rose Agatep, on the other hand, landed at 8th place in Feature Writing English while News Editor Kristine Nicole Carbonel concluded in 9th place in News Writing Filipino.

Photojournalist Edmarie Garcia also entered the roster of awardees as 10th place in Photo Journalism Filipino.

Other writers who also competed are Feature Editor Ariel Bautista who represented the campus in Feature Writing and Poetry Writing, Literary Editor Jonard Batin in Poetry Writing and Photo Journalism, and Ralph-Joey Cenal, Circulation editor, who participated in Layouting.

Pastor, who also garnered the tenth spot in News Writing, will undergo a Pre-LHEPC workshop that will serve as his preparation for the upcoming LHEPC which will be held in Naga City, Camarines Sur on March 2024.
