In an effort to promote awareness on the Universal Health Care Act, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) conducted an informative session at CSU- Lasam Campus today, November 28, 2024.

The activity targeted the fourth-year students, providing them with valuable insights into the "Konsulta Package" under the Republic Act 11223, also known as the Universal Health Care Act.

The event aimed to familiarize students with the benefits and services available through the "Konsulta Package", an essential component of PhilHealth's primary care initiative.

According to Mr. Mardi D. Pazziuagan, Social Insurance Assistant I, the members of the said program can access free consultations, laboratory tests, and medicines from accredited providers.

Pazziuagan also added that the program is designed to strengthen primary care and preventive health measures in the country, ensuring accessible healthcare for all.

PhilHealth representative emphasized that the Konsulta Package is a testament to the government’s commitment to achieving universal health coverage. They encouraged students and other attendees to spread the word within their families and other people to maximize the program's reach and impact.

As the program concluded, Dr. Florante Victor Balatico extended his warm appreciation to the program, highlighting its significance in equipping students with essential knowledge about health benefits.
