The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of the Municipality of Lasam imparted awareness to the students of Cagayan State University (CSU) -Lasam Campus regarding mental health, teenage pregnancy, and STI/HIV/AIDS at the DARP Hall today.
Prof. Wilfredo Perciano, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, extended warm greetings to the visitors during his welcoming remarks, highlighting the significance of the event.
In addition, Miss Dannah Paula Agatep, Executive Secretary of LGU-Lasam, delivered an inspirational message dedicated to the students to value their studies and think wisely, especially when making significant decisions.
Dr. Lorelei Remando of the Municipal Health Office (MHO), discussed the influence of social media on the mental health of adolescents, providing interventions and strategies for the prevention of the negative effects of Social Media.
Furthermore, Dr. Marie Perez talked about teenage pregnancy, emphasizing its origins and consequences on the lives of teenage parents.
Moreover, Miss JM Salva, RN explained how STI/HIV/AIDS was obtained, shedding light on the transmission and symptoms of such disease.
