The College of Teacher Education (CTED) of Cagayan State University (CSU)-Lasam campus marked history as it inaugurated its first-ever Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremonies yesterday, September 11, 2024, at the Dr. Andres R. Pasion (DARP) Hall.
Prof. Florante Victor Balatico, Campus Executive Officer (CEO) of CSU-Lasam, delivered his opening remarks, appreciating the efforts of the 4th Year Students and their parents in the realization of the historic endeavor.
Dr. Francisco S. Conag, Public Schools District Supervisor and the Guest of Honor, duly represented by Ma'am Rebecca Balbuena, Principal of Lasam East Central School, delivered an inspiring speech, inculcating pieces of advice for the Pre-Service Teachers before their deployment.
"Your role as their educators is to understand these threads— to weave them together with care and compassion and to create a masterpiece of learning and growth", the Guest Speaker stated.
On the other hand, with a vision to expand its reach and impact in the community, CTED also inked pact with the Department of Education (DepEd) Partner Schools with its Extension Program.
Assoc. Prof. Judelyn U. Cantor, CTED Dean, presented the programs titled: Enhancing Language and Literacy: Community-Based Programs for Elementary and Secondary Education, and discussed the various phases of the project mainly focusing on literacy improvements.
Dr. Ronel P. Pacubat, PhD, concluded the event with his motivational closing remarks, igniting hope to the student-
teachers as they embark on the final phase of their college journey.
