CSU-Lasam stages Seminar-Worksho p on University Rankings and Quality Assurance

Cagayan State University (CSU) - Lasam Campus held a Seminar-Workshop today, February 11, 2025 at the DARP Hall, focusing on key university ranking systems and quality assurance measures, including WURI, THE, QS, PQA, and UI Greenmetric. The event, led by university officials and spearheaded by Campus Executive Officer Florante Victor M. Balatico, PhD brought together faculty and staff of the campus.

Said event was welcomed by CEO Balatico highlighting the shared efforts and commitment of every member of the faculty and staff of the campus.

“Small steps toward perfection, through the journey of perfection we attain excellence”, the CEO stated.

Dr. Marie Claudette M. Calanoga, University Quality Assurance Director, shared an inspirational message, recalling her experiences and emphasizing the vital role of quality assurance initiatives in higher education.

Moreover, Dr. Giged T. Battung, CPA, University Focal Person for Times Higher Education (THE), provided an insightful overview of THE World Rankings.

Dr. Battung also highlighted the interconnectedness of globalization and world peace, she also emphasized THE’s alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the University's ongoing efforts in this field.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ronnie E. Pasigui, University Focal Person for WURI and QS, discussed the University's notable achievements and potential research entries for WURI recognition and delved into the QS Ranking manual.

University Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Focal Person Associate Professor Rio Averil C. Pamittan, shared her insights on PQA and UI Green Metric World Ranking System emphasizing its significance in promoting sustainability and institutional excellence.

Campus Academic Coordinator Judelyn U. Cantor concluded the program expressing her gratitude to the resource speakers for their valuable efforts and conveying the campus’ commitment to WURI to improve the quality education of the university.
