CSU Lasam Prepares New Students for University Life Through Orientation Program

LASAM, CAGAYAN – Cagayan State University (CSU) Lasam Campus welcomed its incoming students with a comprehensive freshmen orientation in the DARP Hall today, July 11.
Anchored with the theme "Meet, Greet, and Commit: Embracing New Horizons in Sparrows' Chronicles of Triumph and Excellence," the event was designed to equip new students for a successful transition into university life.

Setting a welcoming tone, Chief of Staff Jennylyn L. Alnajes opened the program, highlighting the diverse opportunities at CSU Lasam and urging active student participation.
Through an audio-visual presentation, Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, ASEAN Engr., the Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the University President, delivered an inspiring message to the freshmen.

"I look forward to seeing you toss your caps at graduation one day; until then, welcome to CSU, and thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey toward your dreams," OIC Pres. Ibañez stated.

Following this, Dr. Mariden Ventura Cauilan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, then outlined academic policies, expectations, and support systems, emphasizing the university's mission, vision, and core values.

The orientation featured presentations from Campus Registrar Lerissa Bautista, LPT; Campus Librarian Juliecon Fieror, RL; OSDW Coordinator Asst. Prof. Cherry Sanut; Campus Nurse May-Ann Agatep, RN; and Campus Guidance Counselor Ronabelle Ramil, RGC, who collectively informed students about the services offered by their respective offices.

In the afternoon session, the deans of the three colleges; Assoc. Prof. Wilfredo M. Perciano, Ph.D., Dean of College of Industrial Technology (CIT); Assoc. Prof. Judelyn U. Cantor, MAEd, Dean of College of Teacher Education (CTED); and Assoc. Prof. Jake G. Maggay, College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS) Dean, informed the students about college-specific expectations, including their rules and challenges the students might face.
