CSU Family welcomes New Academic Year with Sparrows' Grand Salubong 2024

LASAM, CAGAYAN- The Cagayan State University (CSU) Lasam kicked off the new academic year with Sparrows' Grand Salubong 2024 at the campus today with the theme "United as one, soaring together: A warm embrace for mighty sparrows.".

The program started with the grand entrance of freshmen from different colleges: the College of Teacher Education (CTED), the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS), and the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), followed by the old students, CSC Officers and Advisers, Administrative Personnel, and the Faculty of Instruction.

Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Wilfredo M. Perciano, MAEd, CIT Dean, delivered his inspiring message as he welcomed the students and new faculty members.

"We gathered here today with full of hope, and excitement to officially commence the Academic Year 2024-2025. Let us embrace the spirit of our theme. This theme resonates deeply with our institution, symbolizing our commitment to unity, collaboration and shared aspiration" he stated.

Asst. Prof. Cherry C. Sanut, Office of the Student Development and Welfare (OSDW) presented the Campus Student Council Officers, which was followed by the presentation of Administrative Personnel by Catherine M. Salva, MLIS, Campus Human Resource Management Officer.

Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Judelyn U. Cantor, MAE, Campus Academic Coordinator, presented the Campus Officials and Faculty of Instruction.

Furthermore, Prof. Florante Victor M. Balatico, Campus Executive Officer (CEO), conveyed an encouraging message, emphasizing the essence of unity in the campus.

"Unity [is] not only for one organization, but also for all among the organizations here at CSU Lasam Campus. As you can see in your hands, there are many fingers— stronger if the fingers join to form a fist. Magkakaroon tayo ng kamao; mas malakas kung nagkakaisa, at hindi hiwa-hiwalay", the CEO stated.

John Mark G. Balao, CSC President, emphasized in his closing remarks the importance of having the spirit of camaraderie and collaboration.

"Let's carry this energy forward as we face new challenges and opportunities together, with the same spirit of unity and collaboration that we've shown today", said the CSC President.

As part of the Salubong, the Freshmen were guided by the Campus Student Council (CSC) Officers for the campus tour.
